I don't remember the Netflix show name, but it was cyberpunk and animated. From the show, I find this idea very interesting.

Put prisons behind an API. And use it for various tasks that require intelligence. There you go, we solved the AI problem.

But I wonder say we're using it for a self-driving, the prisoner just deliberately crashes it.

prisoners would have a vested interest in making the world burn tho

@jestdotty I read some study that most male prisoners have higher testosterone levels than average person. And having high testosterone increased the likely hood of violent crimes. In a sense, the prisoner's brain and hormones are affecting the behaviour and the person is took weak to control themselves and or could be an accident.

In this case, the prisoner is just a person who doesn't care whether the world burns or not. But they definitely hate the justice system and prison industrial complex if they're in the US.

I guess this is the reason why we're engineering male humans to decline in testosterone levels using food, entertainment, music, etc to ultimately decrease crime.

@kanyewest testosterone isn't a bad thing but def people wanna remove it

males have a need to have territory. if you wanna steal territory, reducing people's desire for it will do

males also have protective urges over greater things than females. hierarchies is just hashing out over conceptual territories

someone doesn't like the way you're hashing out territory / your rights, to prison you go

monkeys don't do it any differently. big male monkey smash small male monkey. who does he think he is?! he can't do that! im king here!

something something anarchy philosophy views government as the entity that wants monopoly on violence. if you conflict with that they don't like the competition

technically the mob is an alternative government. when your local government fails, black markets thrive and fulfil the same function

@kanyewest in the case of prisoners... prisons are not nice places

the guards often abuse the prisoners. but prisoners will also abuse the prisoners

i've seen people out of prison who clearly had PTSD. there is no acknowledgement or cure for this. if they didn't start with authority issues you can't really blame them for having them after

and if society treats you like a piece of shit, why would you be kind to them back? actually in the case of PTSD these people literally black out and react and can't help themselves. they don't know what's wrong with themselves. it's very sad

under stressful conditions humans can react in a number of ways. freeze, run / avoid, fight, or fawn. spouting how you love your guards and imprisonment and the country is fawn. not everyone fawns. that's just the only ones that you get to see. they're the recidivism poster boys because it looks politically congruent
