    i don't get it. Tried it with both numpad disabled and enabled. Nothing happened.

    Used to use this in DOS to get funky letters.

    255 was a blank space that wasn't a space. So you could see a directory, but couldn't get in it from command line.

    I think the actual virus this was found in used a lesser known executable file extension that looked like a plausible three symbol filename when reversed.
