Recruiters are the worst. In my experience, all the direct hires were better than jobs via recruiters. If your company isn't out at meetups and your HR dept doesn't know how to use Dice/LinkedIn/StackOverflow Careers, then they're not involved in the tech community and are most likely going to be behind.
