I'm so bored of corporate life. What else is there?

Digital nomad? You have to have a solid client pool though.

Startups, freelancing/contracting, small-mid product/nonproduct companies, teaching

Samsies. Stuck in corporate nonsense with artificial barriers at every turn.

I miss startups, but I couldn't take the pay cut. Damn kids...

Early retirement.

Then spend the day gardening and taking care of cats.

Only take part time and full remote work

@retoor okay so my first problem is I'm honestly not that hard of a worker

I just remembered one of the early M$ engineers was feed up with technology that he quit and worked on a farm. I'm looking into Hydroponics so that's something worth considering? And maybe use your talent to engineer the process? Write a script to automatically water the seedlings? Check the water quality and levels? Write an app to monitor everything?

@retoor you're right. I was saying to someone at church last that I've worked harder there than at some of my jobs

hear a lot of talk of "corporate life" angst among a small set of people, where stories they tell feels like they are living inside Dilbert or Office Space .

But personally this isn't something I experience myself - and it doesn't apply to most of my dev friends.

Not sure if it's just that some people have a more fine tuned corporate bullshit radar, or if it's just a vast difference in culture between different corporations.
