retoor541221dTry department of a non it company, or even small it company and become the boss of that department. You'll be appreciated and respected. You can do however you want. Your word is law.

lungdart356921dSamsies. Stuck in corporate nonsense with artificial barriers at every turn.
I miss startups, but I couldn't take the pay cut. Damn kids... -

Then spend the day gardening and taking care of cats.
Only take part time and full remote work -
retoor541219d@TheBeardedOne it's just how it works :) If you're a hard worker, you will do good at a small company since you'll be noticed. That results in more power to make decisions and that results in more fun work. And that snowballs until you are the happiest person on earth.

fruitfcker12819dI just remembered one of the early M$ engineers was feed up with technology that he quit and worked on a farm. I'm looking into Hydroponics so that's something worth considering? And maybe use your talent to engineer the process? Write a script to automatically water the seedlings? Check the water quality and levels? Write an app to monitor everything?

@retoor you're right. I was saying to someone at church last that I've worked harder there than at some of my jobs

hear a lot of talk of "corporate life" angst among a small set of people, where stories they tell feels like they are living inside Dilbert or Office Space .
But personally this isn't something I experience myself - and it doesn't apply to most of my dev friends.
Not sure if it's just that some people have a more fine tuned corporate bullshit radar, or if it's just a vast difference in culture between different corporations.
Are we at the f*ck holes off corporate life?
Have you all been busting your guts for corporate f*cks?
I'm so bored of corporate life. What else is there?
