retoor45072dDo it, every job is different than expected. Be positive, if it's within the same company you could say upfront what you doubt about it and just do it. I tend to try stuff out.
It were there better alternative positions you preferred? -
Just be cautious. Next thing you know, everything "IT" related will be tossed at you.

I definitely wouldn’t do it because I‘m a developer and not the IT guy.
But if you like that kind of stuff, sure, go for it. -

I got an offer to be part of an asset management team in a position of "maintenance and reliability engineer" although I would be the IT/Infra/Network responsible. Basically chasing the integrator, and checking if they do their job according to expectations that the company currently doesn't have (🫣). I decided to let you guys decide.
