I got an offer to be part of an asset management team in a position of "maintenance and reliability engineer" although I would be the IT/Infra/Network responsible. Basically chasing the integrator, and checking if they do their job according to expectations that the company currently doesn't have (🫣). I decided to let you guys decide.

Do it, every job is different than expected. Be positive, if it's within the same company you could say upfront what you doubt about it and just do it. I tend to try stuff out.

It were there better alternative positions you preferred?

Just be cautious. Next thing you know, everything "IT" related will be tossed at you.

I definitely wouldn’t do it because I‘m a developer and not the IT guy.
But if you like that kind of stuff, sure, go for it.

@kiki I‘m refusing the big moneh because I value fulfillment more.

@Lensflare were you ever able to find it at your workplace?

@kiki yes, otherwise I would have switched the company, as I did with the previous two.
