@sammyo but most people are non techie, so they don't have the same level of understanding these stuff like us. I've met many people who I had to help navigate in a two-button menu, because they simply couldn't. Apple developers aren't dumb either, I'm sure they have a billion support requests a day about "howw to turn on da iPhone?!", so they have to make it simpler.
