Well the internship is guaranteed work, therefore, guaranteed and stable income. Freelancing can be a but unstable at times and you could have dry spells without any work.
What's the more important: experience or money? -
iamroot41217y@jhh2450 I don't really care about the money right now I care about expanding my portfolio so when I do want a job it will be easier. I'm just wondering what is a better way to expand that.
-
@iamroot Well, if you don't like WordPress and you feel you'll continue to dislike it, then what's the point in getting experience in it? Sure, it's expanding your skill set. But wouldn't it make more sense to freelance and make things in the area you'd like to work in?
-
iamroot41217y@jhh2450 wp is bearable for me. But what I'm asking is working for an established company more worthwhile than freelance. Seeing they could vouch for my work.
-
@iamroot Ehhh experience is experience. If you're going for resume looking nice, then the internship will probably be the way to go. It'll look really nice to say "Internship for *** company at 16" compared to freelance work.
-
@sladuled I wouldn't say too much because I'm British and not a lot of experience but that is a lot.
-
deodexed5737y@DucksCanCode it's a lot for an internship, even greater than some full time job here in France
-
kalbz437y15$ - 20$ per hour is too big here in Philippines. Internships doesn't pay, for Fresh Grads earns 2$ per hour even though has an above level knowledge in programming.
-
iamroot41217yIt is quite a bit but I still have to pass the interview portion and it's an "internship" because they don't pay as much as their regular devs. I live in California so we are talk 4$ over min wage at the low end.

(Keep in mind I am 16 and I have never had an internship or a job)
I have a potential internship that I can partake in over the summer. It is a mainly front-end job and it is paying 15-20$ an hour. However, the one catch but they use WordPress to code all of their client's sites. I have tried to use WordPress before and I have not had much fun. I feel it is more confusing than it has to be. Should I try again and relearn it to get some early job opportunity and expand my portfolio or should I try freelance work instead?
If you vote WP could you link some good ways to learn it?
