One of the many reasons why I like Linux more than Windows, yesterday I upgraded from Ubuntu 17.04 to 18.04 and it didn't need to restart. In fact updates in general only rarely require a restart, and it never forces them upon me

    Lolwat, in what world, i had to restart.

    Uh, you have to restart in order for low-level changes to occur (kernel!)

    You're lucky, almost every distro upgrade I've done fucked something or the other up. Badly.
    Of course, it could just be me.

    Funnily enough, Windows updates always go really smoothly for me...

    Wtf.

    Doesn't the entire desktop environment change in that update ?

    @Teknas On stock Ubuntu it goes from Unity to GNOME. But it doesn't matter much to me since I'm more of a KDE guy myself
