In one of his books Steven King writes about how all the best writers are alcoholics. I've often heard it said that intelligent people tend to have higher rates of substance abuse.

It's self medicating, we have to deal with people that don't know what they are doing but think they do. add that they think this is like retail you have a smoking, alcoholic, coffee drinking programmer cause unlike what retail tells customers. you come to us cause you don't know what you are doing so awnser our damn questions, shut up, pay us, and everything will work out.
