The answer to either question, if asked to me five or ten years ago, if I had the clairvoyance to know how things are for me in 2018, would be: bahua124727yTen years is way too far out. I think they want to see how far out you've planned your life. The less you've planned, the easier it is to program your future to keep working with them.

This is my least favourite interview question ever. My answer: no idea, I just go with whatever seems sensible, or excites me on a day to day basis. I have no interest in planning further ahead than that. Furthermore, experience has taught me that long term planning leads mostly to disappointment and disillusionment.

 But wait....

Did I just figure out why I've achieved fuck all in life?

				RageBone5797y@teadrinker maybe.

Isn't anyone planning ahead at least a little bit?

 What about family?
A kid instantly necessitates that, I think.

Though I as a student especially don't really plan stuff at all.

 should Pobably change that.

@RageBone yes indeed. I have raised a couple of kids and I've planned where necessary. But in my "professional" life, specifically, I've never planned anything. Shit just sort of happened!

Interviewer: Where do you see yourself in 10 years?
Me: I see myself as the leader of a raider group, robbing and scavenging together pieces of what is left of the civilization in hopes to build a weapon powerful enough to take the world back from a rogue AI, which I built myself few years earlier.

Me: What?
