Would love to be working on my game if the editor didn't crash every 5 fucking minutes... Really getting tired of Gamemaker studio 2's lack of actually support and stability on windows...

    @fuck2code Yes, didn't like godot but looking like a better option at this point and no havn't tried source.

    Thinking about finding some decent monogame tutorials and going from there

    @fuck2code Nah I'm mostly a game dev but unfortunately my style needs a lot of external uncompiled assets like JSON, XML and a few custom data storage types to allow for mods and stuff, kinda hard finding alternative engines that are as easy to work with as gamemnaker in that respect

    @lxmcf any particular reason you're not using one of the heavyweight engines (Unreal, Unity). I'm looking to get started with gamedev, hence the question.

    @RememberMe I'm a 2D developer so unity and unreal aren't as good and easy for it, for 3D for sure go heavy weight
