trying to make a live usb disk. i took shots at random combinations from 2 usb sticks, 2 oses, different tools or technics on each os... each failed with a different outcome. then i realized i should have kept a failure matrix so that i don't try the same combinations, or can trace the roots of the problem.

each time i need to build a live disk, a part of me dies inside.

    @rookiemaverick that'd be great :) i have a kali iso (checksum is ok). as far as i can remember, i tried on a 4gb sandisk;

    . dd'ing from debian with block size of 512kb and that yielded corrupt or missing isolinux.bin.
    . unetbootin from windows, and that got me a forever blinking cursor at startup.

    1. partiton table : msdos ( last week I messed around with different ine)
    2. on windows u can use linuxliveusb.com
    3. on linux u can use unetbootin

    as a matter of fact yeaterday I burned the kali , root password is toor

    I'm using Rufus: you can write your image in dd or ISO mode.
