I have never had any trouble, neither on the client or server.

@Linux Skype for business is complete and utter horse shit. I got a link to it for a meeting which turned into Lynx for some reason, not sure how the two are related. But the below were both related to it. Slow, stupid and buggy. Never again.

Ask the admin who take care of the servers. Sounds like a poorly updated server.

@Linux External party sent it to me, i've no means of contacting them. Quite frankly even if that is the issue, i'm sick of MS's attitude of delivering half baked solutions to the market and then fixing everything with updates after the fact. It shouldn't be that bad on any install.

MS bought Lync back in 2012, and if admins has not bothered to upgrade since then - it is not MS fault.

@Linux If i'm using the "native" skype for business app, thats been built to open an embedded web browser so that it can open Lynx, and do it badly so that it behaves like a browser rather than an app. Thats nothing to do with the admin not updating the server, thats piss poor integration.

Also asking them to stop delivering half-ass'ed code makes zero sense? Asking them to test their shit better before releasing it makes zero sense? Pretty sure most people would disagree

Lync*, Lynx is something completly different.
I have never seen or heard of that it behaves like that actually.

Every product have patches, not just Microsoft. Blaming them for "not releasing a finished product" is stupid. Every, fucking software gets updated because bugs or new feature is released. And every patch introduces more bugs - that is true for every piece of software in the history.
But lets hope that Microsoft lets users report shit to them now via github or something :p

Consider this instead: how do you manage a company that delivers products that should work on thousands different types of hardware, millions of usecases and billions of users without fucking up? You cant.
