To be fair, there is one time when it'll actually do some good: internet goes down --> right click network/wifi icon in taskbar, menu item saying something about diagnose/repair.

That will start its silly little problem solver gui. After ~45sec it will reset the LAN adapter. That fixes it like 75% of the time.

Curious if anyone ever got any help from that. My experience is outdated since the last win I ran voluntarily was XP. But the few times I've seen it since has been quite unhelpful.
