Noone would speak to each other anyway, bots is not that important either in this case.

Discord was better than Telegram because of better voice support and better bot support? That should be irrelevant in this case if Devrant would support ActivityPub and therefore support federation so we could host an instance ourself.

You said that most of the people don't like Telegram because of some privacy issues - but they prefer discord instead? I can't understand that kind of reasoning really.

The owners of discord has been in several lawsuits where they where accused of mining alot of personal data from people phones, and they STILL collect alot of information from their users

Telegram does not do that in that extent at all, they are not even close.

So the privacy argument is just dead.

That's hypocritical ;)

Discord is far worse than telegram when it comes to privacy, so if people use discord instead of telegram because of "the privacy" should really think again.

My own experience is that most people use Telegram :P We already have a "CodrTalk" group on telegram where the vast majority is from Devrant. I have never joined the Devrant discord group thou so I can't talk for that.

And yes, getting people to join either "side" would be an impossible task :):)

I don’t really think that the communication platform is that important to discuss before it is even known whether or not the idea can become a reality...

Has anyone read Ready player one? There’s an awesome theoretical server architecture in there that maybe we could use.

It’s a game server but each client also contributes processing power when connected to help spread the load out
