Currently working in an office where my tasks are pretty boring and not fun at all. On one hand I wanna quit and get a job as a gamedev, cause that is what I truly enjoy and love doing, but on the other hand my current job is paying pretty good money, so it would kinda be a step back.

Maybe you guys got some tips or advice on what I could do?

You can still do what you like to do as a part-time job. And if you really love doing game dev job but you are tired of your current job which is paying you well, don't leave your current job. Take part in Ludam Dare game dev contest.

TL;DR:Do whatever makes you happy while you can.

That would depend on a ton of factors...

I always search jobs that make me happy... And that's what I tell you. Get a job that makes you happy.

If money makes you happy, get a job that pays more. If a good office, nice coworkers and flexible schedules make you happy, go get that. if programming games makes you happy, then go do that.

Whatever you choose, at the end if you're happy you won't be thinking about other jobs or 'what if' scenarios.

BUT if you have people depending on you (a partner, children, etc) then your priorities may switch.

In my case, for example I'm not very happy at my current job but I'm an immigrant and with this job I get my residence and so do my wife and children so that's my motivation. Later I'll switch.
