    Nvidia vs AMD is even more fun.

    @RememberMe Yeah, because while Intel-AMD is actually a viable debate, Nvidia-AMD is just comparing a flamethrower with an overheating single-slot toaster

    @TheOct0 I mean both are great, depending on what you wanna do

    @jonii Apart from being a dev I'm mainly a gamer, so I think you can guess my preferences about those :)

    Brand vs brand is dumb, compare the products, not the brands dummies
  • 3
    @filthyranter I think you didn't understand that when it's brand vs brand, it's global products vs global products and not name vs name... Otherwise you missed quite the step there

    @c3ypt1c That's where you see how much of a strange user I am. I would have gone through the hassle to post a no-width whitespace or a null byte instead of a dot :)

    @fuck2code I'll give you the Linux driver argument. I only have Linux on my secondary PC because of how shitty the Nvidia integration is...

    @TheOct0 Linux is the only reason why i will go for AMD.

    Had Quadro at work, use a GTX 1080 for gaming and some cad rendering stuff. Works fine for me,had bad experience in my old pc with AMD. But I think they are a viable choice. And the CPUs are good for rendering, but I'll stay with the Intel Nvidia combination for now. They have both up-/downsides. 🙃

    @TheOct0 Imo nvidia intel combo is the best for gaming. I mean, better drivers and better game optimization. Idk if it's true: I heard that new GeForce serie will have 16 GB of VRAM

    @Kodeus If so, that's gonna almost be illegal in some states because of its power x)

    I'd go AMD only seeing how both Intel and Nvidia prefer destroying competition to making their products better, but if I needed most performance, I'd go for AMD + Nvidia.

    @TheOct0 TDP 200 W ahaha

    As somebody who developed for both AMD and nVidia, I will choose nVidia all the time.
    Same for Intel vs AMD.
    No hate, just objective preference towards better technology.
