Anyone used the vim plugin for VS Code? Thoughts on this and how much it differs from 'standalone' vim?

I like vscode for typescript development , but i cant go without vim keybinds. I'd say it works fine for most of the vim functionalities, but acts weird some times.
E.g. search and replace , you can barely see your search string in the status bar. Visual mode doesn't always work like in vim and i find saving with :w doesn't feel 100% native.
Anyway i would rate it a 8/10
