My project mananger let it slip during the sprint review that the upper managers are making plans to do lay offs / cut the fat.

What an ideal moment to hand in my resignation.

    The day after everyone has been cut //jk the week or month after they officially are out so they can't be hired back easily (after the 30+ days termination period)

    It's better to get fired, servance (or however you write it) package!

    Honestly? Don't. Financially, it's more beneficial to wait for the actual layoffs. If you aren't the "fat", they'll want you to stay so you'll get a good counteroffer, and if you get laid off as a part of a group, you will get the severance package.

    @cprn Already handed in my resignation. If I didn't do it, my severance package would be the legal minimum. I've never heard in this company that they are offered anyhing more.

    It's a company of 35 people so I don't expect anything special compared to Intel or something
