I have Evo 850 and that thing is just amazing enjoy your upgraded specs 😀😀

@nemyxa just in case I need extra ssd to try something, so I don’t need to copy to external everytime

@gitpush cool, I really want 2 860 but the seller only got one left so I stuck with WD Blue

@devTea what's the difference? I never tried wd ssd but for an HDD I'd go for wd for sure
  • 1
@gitpush WD are a bit more expensive by 10 to 15 dollars, I only glance at the spec and it got 50TBW lower compared to Samsung. Yeah WD does pack a punch on HDD but I’ve never heard their brand for SSD quality

@devTea oh I see, well good luck and take my advice, use the Evo for main data it's been with me almost three years and still solid

    Nice stuff, enjoy

@Bitwise yes! I’ll use it on my old laptop, I am ordering a caddy now 😁

@dthree too many ssd, what you doing it for? Server?

I had an evo 840 for 4 years and it died on me... googled a bit, turns out pro series endurance is 2x more TB written, hence the 5y warranty for the evo and 10y for the pro I guess... but the price difference is from 50 to 90 something % more for the pro based on capacity... idk, anyway maybe its just a shock and I can get it back to life by "defibrillating" it with my old computer

How mutch RAM did you download?
  • 1
@theKarlisK yeah the 850 probably the one that become so popular, pro version is just too hardcore and expensive to me, my first ssd eas kingston and it kinda shit now honestly.

@ScaryException I downloaded 4GB ram as my laptop only supports 8GB max. Do you have a site where I can download new CPU? 😛

@devTea actually I don't know one, but I know a new driver written in css, mines pretty fast now!

@Bitwise I’m planning on installing a linux distro on old ssd and use it with caddy, I got external already. The other 250gb I mentioned is for my brother

Installing SSD is the best improvement that i've ever done
  • 1
    nice :D

both SSD's are great in terms of speed and durability.

I built a few computers and always recommended my "clients" the WD blue, so far they're happy

my system is full ssd and it's awesome to go full speed

    enjoy :D

@devTea few days back, I bought 860 evo to gift my sister an old laptop...

Fuck, laptop was fucking with me..! Couldn't try the ssd yet. How's the performance?
  • 2
@Gowtham95india if you’re upgrading from old ssd then the improvement is not that much, I get it because it has more lifespan than other ssd.

If you’re replacing a normal hdd then almost a low spec laptop got boosted A LOT, that’s nice of you to get one for your sister. I’m also planning on giving the wd to my brother 😆

    @devTea
    Thank you :)
Its an old one, i3, 4GB Ram, 750GB HDD. So, I hope it does boost performance. Yet to install it!

Aw..! That's so nice of you :)

Holy cow, you have the next gen of my Samsung SSD (except mine is 1TB). Excellent choice: fast and durable! And also has a pretty nice shape (too bad it's hidden inside a laptop).

PS: yes! Mine is Samsung 850 EVO!

@stacked 850 EVO still not bad, and yes it’s great!
