People ask me why I prefer Windows: decided to install Mint, it crashed upon choosing a timezone. Had to not set a timezone to move past that bug. Then the install hangs. Turns out I should've edited the grub boot settings because I'm using an nvidia GPU. What the actual fuck? How is anyone supposed to know that?

And it didn't even add Windows to the grub. Fun times.

Well, both worlds can suck sometimes. For me, dual booting Ubuntu and Win 8, an Ubuntu update crashed my grub. I restored it after trying a lot. All nice and smooth. Decided to install Win 10, give it a try. The fucker turned my Dell into a expensive paperweight. I just gave up after some time.

Update: currently removing Mint. I can't even get the drivers to work. Maybe in my next life I'll be a more patient guy who has enough dedication to setup a distro properly.

@Jacques0130 @Haxk20 I don't remember the last time a saw a BSOD, let alone having one. Windows is not flawless either, but at least I can make it work. I feel like in order to make Linux work I'd have to learn another world. Ain't nobody got time for dat.

@NoNameCode I will, I will. But enough of Linux for the next half year :)

Don't get me wrong, I can get why devs like Linux. But it doesn't fit _my_ needs. At all.

Its like learning docker : some time of "wtf this piece of shit is worthless" and them "omg piece of miracle I can't live without"

Love takes work, it's not necessarily going to be a cake walk all the time. But put in the work and you will have something you truly love. Not just something that is quick and easy to get what you want. It's a deeper relationship with more meaning. A (mechanic) friend once told me "Unless you've touched every part on your car, inside and out, it's not truly your car."

@fatlard1993 I'm not sure how my girlfriend would feel about it, but it's an interesting thought :P

Try CentOS. It has installed like a dream every time, and on an AMD CPU with Nvidia graphics.
