It pays the bills for me. As far as language weirdness I believe that all languages are quirky af. But I am a professional and make a case to know a language well before I put a solution in production.

@jschmold PHP5 is really not good. But I like PHP7. As I do not need to use any specific version, I just use PHP7.

@gLiTcH I learned the very basic of C# and I really liked it. It seems to be much more strong/robust and clear. What keeps me away from C# is that I do not have Windows anymore.

I've heard something about Mono, but I really have no idea how to work with it (and I know nothing about C# besides the basic logic, either).

But to web backend, PHP is the way to go for me. :)

Photo has it's beautiful things that too many other languages lack, like variable identifiers.

It also does some things in a "wtf are you doing php? That's now how this works!" Kind of way. All in all, it's kay.
