So I just decided I'd hotspot my phone to my laptop (as I have no WiFi) and stream a film I've wanted to watch for a while.

Turns out my shite ass mobile provider wants credit card details to prove I'm over 18.

I'm sorry, what?

ARE YOU FUCKING KIDDING ME? YOU NOSY OVER CONTROLLING SHIT STAINS! THAT IS A PARENT'S JOB, NOT YOURS.

fucking hell. What is wrong with this fucking race?

Oh, and I can't torrent it because that's blocked too.

    Route things through TOR?

EDIT: Don't mind me. I just didn't understand the question.

On which actual hotspot setup stage you were asked to provide your cc details? I have setup this quite often and can't recall to deal with my provider's system at all.

@arazzz it's any traffic through my data connection. And I can put it through a VPN on my phone but why the fuck should I have to? Just because they want to play big brother, I have to put work in to get around that. It's a pisstake.

@DucksCanCode Had the same problem with o2 right pain in the arse. It has to be a credit card too, you can't use a debit card.

    Just enter a fake card
Net and darkweb are full of them

@R1100 I did think that but chances are it's going to be a stolen card, and I don't want to risk connecting that to my phone in any way. A VPN or proxy is much safer imo.
