Anyone advice on how one could achieve a high upload 'rate' with a seedbox seeding Linux iso's?

It seeding more than 10 iso's but the overall up speed is 10kbs .____.

Currently I'm having a upload rate of 52 on one torrent (2-ish GB) and 5.4-ish on another (84GB). The essential spec is time when it comes to seedboxes. Just leave the torrents in the queue for a few weeks after you've finished leeching them, and the upload rate will improve over time. Whenever it gets over 2, you can consider your job done. But I often like to go further than that. After all, as long as my ISP doesn't complain, my internet plan is unlimited anyway.

Oh and as for seedboxes for Linux ISO's, there's a whole bunch of seedboxes right there. So your upload speed is largely cut by abundance of other seedboxes. Consider yours to be one of the many redundant servers. The seedboxes you add, add to the stability of the network and further reduce the need for powerful mirrors on the distributors' side. Whenever someone needs it, they'll likely hit yours. Especially when they're geographically close to your seedbox :)

@linuxxx i have the same on my Ubuntu iso, I think there are just too many people who are also seeding and/or are in a better Geo location where the download rate for Linux iso's are higher. So that our seeding (almost) doesn't contribute?

Keep in mind that if you are seeding 10Kb/s that doesn't mean someone is downloading it for 10Kb/s 😉

What torrent client do you use? In my experience there’s a huge difference in performance from client to client. I use rtorrent, which typically is pretty fast for me

@FrodoSwaggins I doubt that it's throttling, on my Transmission client (of which the VM it's running on isn't connected to my VPN servers), I'm getting full speed. I think that it's an abundance of seeders rather than a throttling issue. Of course that can always be checked with a torrent that's healthy but has less seeders (1 or 2). The torrents that I'm currently seeding have only 4 and 5 leechers respectively, but no seeders other than me.

@linuxxx Told ya, time is of the essence :) I'm sure that it'll add up soon. Even after a week or 2 I already accumulated a 600GB seed volume on 2 torrents. Not the healthiest torrents out there, but yeah... I ended up pausing those torrents for now though. I don't really want to test the "unlimited" tolerances of my ISP when it comes to internet usage in a single month :') from 200-ish GB to nearly a TB is quite a noticeable increase after all.

@FrodoSwaggins Good point. Especially considering that the ISP's also have to pay the access layer (POP's I guess?) for their internet access. And infrastructure at the distribution layer isn't really all that good. Mostly fiber but I guess that it won't be able to exceed something like 100Gbps. So yeah.. torrents could indeed clog up the network. Perhaps it's best to put this sort of thing on servers in a professional DC setting (with a stronger network) after all.
