Yvan5136yWhat I am telling is, that there is no specific OS you use for that 'wide' of a subject like Linux for server, that is just bullshit. What distro would you use? Or which Windows NT version?

Yvan5136yIf we do show...
I have a MacBook that happens to run macOS and Windows (10) and a Debian 9 VM
For general use (web and app) servers I prefer using CentOS 7.
But I have no specific demands, except for not using Windows on a hosting infrastructure. -
I'm currently on Win7 for desktop, and it's hands down the best OS I've ever had. That includes Linux which I had as only desktop OS for 9 years, before I was so pissed off that I switched to Win7.
However, Win10 is not acceptable. The next machine will run Linux again. I still think desktop Linux is quite shitty compared to Win7, but Win10 is even shittier - and on purpose by MS, so it will not get better. -
bahua128016yWindows: runs headless to stream games that won't play in wine or natively(this is getting rarer all the time); used for WebEx meeting for work to keep WebEx from taking over the physical machine where I'm sitting.
Linux: everything else -
I haven't used (properly) a windows machine in 8 years, Linux desktop works very well!
-
@demiDev I used windows only till I was 15 and then switched, without any introduction, to Linux :) (I'm 23 now)

All of my friends and customers use windows. I should build win apps for them. So win is better for me I guess.

Windows or Linux?
It's a simple choice.
Window for personal computer (I wanna use visual studio and win apps and sometimes play games)
Linux for server (a 500m RAM Linux work better than 4g RAM window)
