C0D4669016yIt’s the golden rule!
No Friday’s
No deployments after 3pm to production
You do a deployment over the weekend and I’ll kill you myself. 😠-
C0D4669016y@cantthinkofone we go 3, as it will be about 3:30/4 before everything makes it through to prod.
which leaves an hour in the day to fix anything that potentially goes wrong, I try to keep those to 9-10am so at least if something goes severely wrong you have the day to deal with it. -
@C0D4 Exactly, we do 4/4h30, because then we have until 6pm do solve whatever goes wrong!

Isn't this sorta common sense? 🤔 And yeah, it's awesome they respect that, some of our clients are so happy to report major issues at 17:30 that cannot wait till tomorrow cuz it's urgent.. yeah, if it is working like this since before I took over this project it's not urgent..or new.. they are reporting everything as a major bug..then I log in to check up, and see it's a CR.. goddamnit!

@sladuled people here report things at the end of the day too, but we just bullshit them and say it will only be ready the next day! If they could survive until now with this problem, they can survive until the morning.

When I first got in this companie, with 3 other people, one of the first thing they told us was about a "rule" that we never deploy on Friday's or at the end of the day, but no one else in the company knows about it. It's the department's little secret 👌
