Sooooo I got new RAM for my low-budget server today.

Now introducing: 24 GB DDR2 RAM

XD yes I know DDR 2 is slow but very, very cheap ECC memory.

(still not enough for Chrome)

Well to compile chromium with lto and other beauties you might need like 30-36gb

If it's a server, it really doesn't need to be fast memory. It just needs to be "there."

Damn... My low-budget home server has only 1 gig of RAM. Soldered to the board. But still it runs and does everything I want ;)

You should ask small companion if you could get their old PC, I got like 20 Computer from them build most of them together got a server with 24gb ram and the motherboard can handle three graphic cards cpu is not the best but ok

@Gablern Problem is I needed ECC memory, most companies don't have that

@FrodoSwaggins my main workstation is about to have 16gb ram but I fully agree on that hanging thing!

@linuxxx @FrodoSwaggins I got mine with 32 gigs, I wouldn't even try to compile Chrome's icon (if I could) without burying my rig
