Actual interview conversation (not for a programming job) after I got my master’s degree:

Interviewer: You know this job pays $40,000.

Me: That sounds great.

Interviewer: No, you see, this job will *only ever* pay $40,000.

Me: That’s twice what I’ve ever made in my life up until now. Sounds great!

Suffice to say, I didn’t get a call back.

That's me in an interview if i was honest XD!

@BurnoutDV In retrospect I realize that; at the time I was far too naive (and excited to finally have an interview after a year and a half of searching). Live and learn.
