Met a girl on internet ( because I don't have a real life )
She: So what are you studying?

Me: Currently learning about Deep Learning but I also do freelancing in website development to pay my bills.

She: Okay so tell me what is a COMPUTER

Me: ....
She: ......

Me: umm... it's a... mmm.... actually it's a..... basically a.....
(thinking really hard)

*30 seconds later*
Me: It's an electronic machine

She: seriously? I expected much better from you

Me: I'm sorry!

    Please don't hate me. I know I could've done better. Maybe I was just nervous

    Just breathe and next time be sarcastic/funny without being mean. Casual even.

    @AleCx04 was I mean?
  • 7
    @retard oh no no, i mean it as it next time be sarcastic/funny but do it in a way in which you don't come out as mean.
  • 3
    @AleCx04 I'll remember that. Thanks! :D

    Keep trying, be yourself, don’t change for people.

    @AleCx04 like "its a computer you dumb thot lol gtfo"?
  • 12
    @ganjaman duuuude that is how you gets maaaad pussy in here

    @AleCx04 Sarcasm is always great until they don't detect it.

    @retard maybe next time you can tell her a computer is a slave.

    You can tell it do anything and it will do it.

    Save the details like jail breaking iOS, android rooting, firewalls, sudo, su, and other hacking stuff.

    Then take the conversation to something like bdsm. Find out if she is dominant or submissive.

    @AleCx04 you know i like my women the way i like my javascript.

    Not at all.

    A computer is an applied formal logic system. As such it can perform any task which can be translated into logical form, and, with the right accessories, can automate or otherwise facilitate many other forms of physical tasks as well.

    That's my try at that question, provided with the hope that it can inspire your answer next time.

    @retard tip for life: apologise less.

    You do machine learning. Be inspired from it. You are a neutral network with real time demands. You better not take too much time to respond to external events, even if the answer is not the best. Or your mission will fail 😛

    @DarkVoyager Dude, these days we call those things children!
    (actually having a term of a child acting like a slave would be even worse.. gg Python SJW's! :v)

    I'd have asked what level of explanation she expects.
    Anything in between "what you are looking at" and full von Neumann model.

    Computer is something which does computation.
    What is computation?
    It's the thing computers do.
    What?
    Recursion, baby 😉

    @powerfulparadox "Anything with inputs and outputs, and the stuff in between"

    Jesus, going for the hard questions right off the bat. Like what’s life or where do people go when they die.

    @ganjaman best answer ever!!

    @hell remembered

    @Teabagging4Life haha yeah you're right :D

    @kenogo now that's FUCKIN genius

    @Hubot-0x58 Everyone deserves an intelligent response. Especially if it's a "stupid" question. In that case, make it as technically accurate as possible. That way they might learn something and their reaction might be entertaining.

    @Hubot-0x58 So you encourage your own mental laziness? Why would you do that? You might learn something through encouraging curiosity.
  • 0
    @Hubot-0x58 I think encouraging curiosity can be beneficial long-term. Assuming mental laziness is not something I consider necessary, as some people have never allocated any of their limited mental bandwidth to the more substantial areas of knowledge before, and being an introductory gateway might be helpful.

    Especially if it's someone I don't know well, I try to avoid assuming how the other person is approaching their question, as there are almost always multiple possible reasons why they ask something.

    @Hubot-0x58 I agree that self learning is to be encouraged. Not everyone is equipped for that, though, and might need help learning how to do that. Everyone is different, and might not know how to do what you think is normal.

    @Hubot-0x58 True. That answer was given in the spirit of trolling as well. Trolling, at least, is usually recognizable.
  • 0
    @Hubot-0x58 I've found that a good way to handle trolls is to give as detailed an explanation as possible. It tends to remove the fun for the troll.

    Finite Turing machine.
    Next question?
