So there's an American football team (it's a college team lol) and their mascot is a nut.

    They're the Ohio State Buckeyes.

Well, they were the #2 team in the highest level of college football, but they got their ass kicked by someone nowhere near as good as them, and Ohio State was playing at their opponent's stadium.

On Google maps, the name of the stadium was changed to "Nutcracker stadium" the day after the win.

It's fucking hilarious and savage, but I realize I'm wasting my time because nobody else on this app will likely see the humor in it. Oh well lol

Why is the mascot a nut. Did they run out of awesome mascots and just start picking random stuff from the bar they where at?

@skprog Honestly man, I don't even know. The mascots for some teams can get out of hand. There's a lower level semi-professional baseball team that's mascot is a fucking biscuit (like the American kind, not like what the British call biscuits lol).

Here's what a simple Google search got me though.

According to folklore, the Buckeye resembles the eye of a deer and carrying one brings good luck. It has been the official Ohio State nickname since 1950, the website says, but it had been in common use for many years before that.
