devTea240886y@PrivateGER enjoy your time when you can sleep as much as you can, you’re not getting it later
-
Or just take sleep if you want. Every night I get 8 hours of sleep. In the weekends more.
-
Honestly I would like to know my sleep debt as a statistic! And then just sleep for 4 days in a row, to recover
-
@PrivateGER
I made the same thing...
15 and no sleep. I was proud when I got more then 5 hours of sleep...
Trust me it's not healthy.
I am 18 and now always trying to go to bed early enough that I get around 7 hours sleep but the last 4 months I was proud to get 5 hours...
You really feel the difference if you get enough sleep.
I often missed my train stations last week, so this week I decided to stop coding the whole night to get sleep and man... I feel alive again. No longer a zombie.
But I also know that this will not last long enough and I need to force myself to get enough sleep. -
@Jilano
I get up at around 5:30 am, take the bus at 6 am, arrive at work at 8:15 am, work till 11:30am, 30minute break, leave work at 5:15 pm (4x30min more, so I can leave Friday 2hours earlyer) and arrive at home at 7:50 pm
I'm living in a small village and the public transport is shit -
@PrivateGER Yes. You must take better care of yourself. With age it will be harder to break out of the loop and lack of sleep will exaust you more.
-
@Jilano In around 1 month I have my driving license and then it's just a 45min drive to work.
-
Also do not know about you guys, but to me 3 hours of sleep are actually better than 4! Fucking sleep cycles man..
-
@git-fuckyou no matter whether I use public transport or drive by car. I need 2-2.5 hours per tour.
By car would be more expensive and I couldn't work on my FOSS projects. -
devTea240886y@Observable totally agree, work will never end, but your life will, so take care of your body
Edit: Being lazy and just want to sleep around is different story thought -
It's currently 1:37am, I have school at 8. Only 5 1/2 hours until I have to leave the house. Who needs sleep anyways?
-
@git-fuckyou I used to have this same issue, as I live in a crap city ( few neighborhoods that a good and extremely expensive, the rest is just garbage).
Now I am living near the subway and I can get to work in about 1h, 1h30 top. But something even better happened: I am working from home.
I have more time to exercise, to study and to my daughter, but I still do not sleep as much as I would like. -
TheMiper1906yIn my case: 15, about 8 hours of sleep. I am willing to do whatever it takes to get some sleep. While I'm awake, I just want to sleep, but when I go to sleep I just want to be up.
I just want to shoot the guy who planned the school schedule this year. -
I'm 18: I'm already at 2 or no hours a night occasionally, usually about 6 hours though
-
@SukMikeHok Its sleeping more than once a day but for shorter amounts each time. People are mostly monophasic, they sleep once at night. One kind of polyphasic sleep schedule is called Uberman in which you sleep for six 20-minute naps, every 4 hours; so in total it's only 2 hours of sleep everyday.

16 and I get 3 hours. U have constant pain in my teeth from braces that I had. This has on for 1,5 years.
-
@alvarlagerlof btw are braces worth it? how long do i need to wear braces and when i take them off do i need to do something with my teeth for the rest of my life?
-
@SukMikeHok For most people they are worth it. I was supposed to wear then 3 years I think. Don't remember the details. But I got extreme pain 24/7 so I stopped. Pain still there with no braces.
-
@SukMikeHok at first I thought you were talking about dental braces, then I realized it's devRant and you were talking about these: { }. And I was wrong.
For your question, if there are functional problems with your teeth, go for it. If it's just for the looks, don't. I wouldn't trust a person with perfect teeth. -
@electrineer theres nothing wrong with my teeth i just have a 2mm gap between my 2 front teeth which kills my confidence when i smile so i avoid smiling which resulted in forgetting how to smile at all. depressed
-
@electrineer funny how u mention u wouldnt trust a person with perfect teeth and im currently watching this video interview of a hypnotist that has perfect teeth https://youtu.be/eQ2EVsK7104

Navigatr9376yI've had the reverse experience. When I was 13-14 something I had pretty bad insomnia, there was almost a full month where I only slept 2-4 hours a night during the week. (Survived by making up for it in the weekends and with mid-class naps.)
12yo: omg i need to wake up in 15 hours for school, i need to get to bed asap
14yo: omg only 12 hours of sleep until i need to wake up for school, i gotta go to bed
17yo: shit just 10 hours of sleep, need to go to bed rn
19: only 8 hours of sleep until i need to wake up for college, that's more than enough
20: just 5 hours of sleep until i need to wake up for college, exactly how much i need
21: 2 hours is just fine
