Sorry, but I gotta go with the inevitable. Apple.

Of course, their older slogan is ironic now. Used to be does more, costs less. Now you can't even upgrade the RAM in most devices and legally can't repair their shit without their permission. The only reason people love Apple is because of the ecosystem. Everything Apple works great with everything else Apple, plus it's very trendy to have that logo plastered everywhere. It's too convenient to leave.

    Also Apple doesn't want you to be able to repair your own devices and will routinely charge you amounts that should be illegal to fix something that takes like a minute to fix

    You're suffering of the Crapple Stockholm syndrome (aka Cupertino syndrome).
    Seek help with a local PC distributor, you can get out of this circle.

    I’ve been an Apple user since 1985 and never has their slogan been “does more, costs less”.

    Apple has always been the more expensive option, but you got what you paid for.

    I agree they’re losing their touch though. Maybe it’s gone already. I’m still holding out hopes they’ll get their shit together.

    @AlgoRythm What year is that from? I’ve honestly never seen it before. I can’t imagine what they are referring to because the Macintosh was always much more expensive than IBM PCs were.

    @devios1 it says 1993

    @AlgoRythm Well I stand corrected. I’m still confused how they even could say that, but I think it’s safe to say that slogan probably didn’t last too long.

    @FrodoSwaggins Personally I love the retina displays, but in one of life's little ironies, by the time I finally managed to get one in a laptop, my eyes are starting to age to the point where I can't tell the difference anymore, lol.

    Concerning the replaceable RAM, this is just another example of how we as consumers need to demand this kind of stuff from the corporations because they're not going to just willingly make less money as long as they can get away with what they're doing.

    We have to stop treating corporations like celebrities. They are soulless entities who exist to make profit. We must govern them with laws to force them to play fair. Even the quote unquote "good" ones.

    Honestly, I would say it's support for Adobe software, having a Unix base (GNU utils, Bash..) and stability.
