Why the hell are “technical” recruiters so inept that they can’t understand that java and JavaScript are 2 completely different things?

Most modern devs work with the web in mind, and put Javascript on their resume. Most technical recruiters are oblivious to the difference between Java and js, as they are almost always sales people. Sexy people visiting this industry until they can sell something in another industry.

Most companies that are connected to slimy recruiting firms are large companies that lean heavily on aging legacy code. And that means Java.

Because searching for JAVA returns JAVA-Script and these idiots “normies” don’t actually know the difference

@C0D4 literally had a recruiter call me with a position that I’m a “perfect fit” for and when she told me it was a java role I said that I wasn’t interested as I’m interested in JavaScript focused roles to which she literally responded “what does that mean?”... after explaining the difference she had another “perfect fit” for me and the rate was amazing so I told her to go ahead and email me the job description.... another sr level java focused role 🙄
