Right at the top of the image, Netflix is starting to use WhatsApp for communication
“We value your privacy, but can we contact you by email, text and WhatsApp“ -
C0D4669026y@Mousey i don’t know, it’s only asking if he’s on whatsapp not “Hey, we’re on whatsapp too”
-
I agree with your fist comment @Mousey, I don’t agree with business doing things like that.
I know I’ve given them my mobile number for password recovery when I signed up, and also in the hopes they would bring 2FA.
It makes me edgy on how business use personal information to look up information about you. Netflix don’t need to know that I use WhatsApp unless I specify that I want them too. -
@Jilano I think the rules need revising on that one if that is the case as that’s completely wrong of companies to do that.
With WhatsApp you can find and add some one with a mobile number if they are in your contacts or you add them through WhatsApp.
In this case, Netflix has used my number to see if I’m on WhatsApp, but they have done that without my knowledge. -
I think whatsapp have opened its API for businesses. For the last month or so, I've witnessed two or more websites for online booking, brokering, etc. with WhatsApp integration.
