Ugh. So tired of my “premium” HP Omen’s shortcomings that I want to buy a MacBook again. Probably Air 15, and install Asahi Linux right away.

The japanese beer has a linux distro? Then again multipurpose companies seems to be a thing there...

I thought Asahi imploded shortly after Lina got cyberbullied out of the mainstream, but they apparently merged new drivers. It also weathered the whole Rust thing where a kernel maintainer decided that he's the sole arbiter of who can call his subsystem (I wonder if he thought it would apply recursively to the entire dependent kernel half) so it seems they're pretty goal-oriented and resistant to bullshit drama.

It's a pretty turbulent project either way so I wouldn't put a lot of money on its survival just yet.
