TryShift.com - I got this app hoping to consolidate my gmail accounts into a single place. I've been using it for months (maybe a year now) and I just can't see why anymore lol.

1) It logs me out every week or so and dashlane can't autofill my password from within the app so I have to go copy-paste it.
2) The app is basically just a browser
3) There are bugs and one of them just started with the only feature worth using the app for (unread email count in the mac osx dock)
4) The app blocks my macbook from restarting
5) The app won't update when I click "Update & Restart". I have to quit it manually and often it still won't update when I open it again.

UGH! Just uninstalled, opened both my gmail accounts in chrome, and sighed from relief.

    @ditht shift integrates drive and has a unified search across calendars etc too. But I just use chrome profiles and mount things through fuse, so...

    I don't like any email client as much as gmail's web interface. I also wanted a uniform app to use on my macbook and windows computer.

    Try out getstation or franz. Both are much better than Shift

    WTF, is station a wannabe or did shift copy them? haha. Looks the same!

    If you have less than 16 gigs me memory go for franz. Station is faster but hogs a lot of memory. Shift was really buggy.

    I have 16gb. Station seems pretty good so far, but if I get logged out all the time I'll probably stop using it too.

    Nah they don't log you out. Have been using since past 8-10 months, was logged out once.
