Vim users: You're the vegans of the programming world. No one cares that you use Vim.

Emacs users: You're to Vim users what vegetarians are to vegans.

Now, I'm not saying Vim is bad, or even that all Vim users are like that. I just roll my eyes every time I see someone bragging about how they use Vim.

If you wanna use Vim, use Vim. Just don't act like it makes you a superior coder.

I thought Arch linux users are the vegans. Vim users enjoy in silence.

@linuxxx why not, it's a decent little editor... Problem is it needs curses, that can be an issue if you have to work with weird systems or configs. That's why I switched to Vim in the first place. Emacs wasn't an option for the same reason.

Hi, I use vim and you should, too! 😉

Well, I see other editor users bragging about fancy features in their editors which either is already there in vim and emacs or can be plugged in pretty early.

Absolutely, vim is not an IDE, it's a text editor. I like to customise it moderately as needed. I don't have IDE unless I'm working on a really big project or product. Also, there's nothing wrong on the other cool editors as well.

vegetarian: no meat, but milk and dairy products yes. Some parts of the world considers eggs as non vegetarian therefore those vegetarians don't eat egg. There are other vegetarians too (not eating specific vegetables)

vegan: vegetarian, but doesn't eat milk or any dairy products. If they wear animal products then it's called a vegan diet, and if they don't even wear animal products then it's "pure" vegan.

    That's what I have learned.

@heyheni ..or maybe Red Hat Linux users. I love Arch, but I don't see people "smelling their farts" over it as much as Red Hat/CentOS users
