jestdotty611363dat that point use AI for vibe coding so he has to read AI slop and you don't have to read the codebase!
that's how those things work, right? right? -
Lensflare2131463d@CaptainRant don’t listen to jestdotty.
Try to improve things rather than becoming the same kind of asshole that keeps the things in a shitty state. -
CaptainRant483663d@jestdotty I did not mean anything bad by it - it was just my own thinking. I meant that I don't want to adhere to his sloppy practices.
In my specific case, it was an internal toy project, rules were loose (sadly) and I was allowed to make changes, of course, each change had to be PR-approved. I was not the project owner, and so the main dev that created the project did not want me to touch the general structure (trust issue as well) as they maintained the structure themselves. It took them over half a year to get off their ass to bring some structure into it. To clarify: yes, I was not allowed to change the main structure either, though I was allowed to change little things like adding components in their own folders and stuff.
You're not the bad guy at all, jestdotty. You're the good one. -
djsumdog686863dMakes me think of Conway's law: the structure of projects and their interactions strongly reflects the structure of the company org chart. -
Inkognito-356dI’ve been looking for alternatives to the mainstream social platforms, and this compilation of short-form video apps is exactly what I needed. It’s great to see so many creative tools in one place. If you're into content creation, check out to find your next favorite app.

Total garbage
How I protect my source code from prying eyes of colleagues.
The only colleague I'd ever need.
Isn't it aggravating when you want to make a project at the company better structured but the lazy dev that makes the company the most money decides to reflect their despicable attitude onto the code, not structure anything into project folders and make your life harder by forcing you to understand the project every time you look at it? : )
Yeah... coding standards are beautiful but only if the company's culture allows it and the managers aren't ignorant fuckssss.
