I tried everything before settling on a mechanical keyboard (cherry mx blue). Using it for last two years and can not use anything else now that gives me the same pleasure / confidence in typing.

However for initial 1 month, it was very painful as it needed much more typing force and my fingers used to ache. Think my fingers got stronger over time.

I think depends on your personal taste. I have always preferred flat keys. Bought a Logitech Craft a couple of months ago and absolutely love it. ⌨️

Personally I use the Das keyboard 4 pro for development

I think that's a personal choice.. At work I have a mechanical keyboard and at home I have a flat one. Also working on the go requires me to use the flat laptop keyboard. If had to choose, I'd probably take the flat keyboard

Everyone at my work use logitech k740. Highly recommended

@irene i have that at home as a spare keyboard and while it's ok i wouldn't use it for work. I find it's switches too stiff
K740 on the other hand is very quiet, comfortable, beautiful and has a grrat layout. Totally worth the price in my opinion.

Whatever gets the job done. but would go for a flat keyboard or the logitech mk850.

Mechanical - brown switches
I use the cougar attack X3 at work (and the rgb version at home)

It doesnt matter. What ever is comfortable.

On my Linux machine at home I have a Das Keyboard 4 Pro with brown switches.

On my MacBook pro at work I have a Reddragon with purple Chinese knockoff switches, and it feels and sounds great.

I love mechanical, but since we use MacBook Pros at work, I'm "sentenced" to use the Apple Bluetooth Keyboard. At home, I have Das Keyboard 4 Ultimate.

@irene I know I can, but it costs much more money. Average Bluetooth mechanical keyboard is in the same price range as the Apple Keyboard. And besides, for new MBP with only 2 USB-c ports, that'd mean buying another dongle if I wanted to use the wired one.

I'm happy with the way I have it. The Reddragon, though cheaper, looks, sounds, and feels better, imo. So I'm happy to have it on my work machine. I'm expecting delivery of one of these soon, and I think I will try it on the linux machine first.
