@mishaor There are professionals who get this software from their companies. But they love it so much they’re willing to buy it on their own. I’m about to buy it as well.

mishaor17696y@andros705 there's also **nothing** which my VS Code can't do (built-in terminal, ideal TypeScript support, a debugger, nice design with an option to install a custom icon theme, and a lot of plugins and themes!)

@mishaor I like vscode too and compared it to PHPStorm. I like PHPStorm's SQL/DB integrated client. The UI and functionality is good. In vscode, the similar plugins I found are just simple and not even close compared to PHPStorm.
Well I guess each editor/IDE have their pros and cons. Like they say, choose your own poison 😉 -
mishaor17696y@Devnergy I prefer using Adminer/console and mostly writing frontend applications so that's not a problem for me. (there should be something like Code's Git client + GitLens but for SQL)

@noogli because as others said, it's a paid ide. Which means they have to provide the best features so devs do not leave them.
I decided to buy it 3 years ago. It's less than 100€ per year and perpetual license.
That is the only tools I ever bought for development. It saves me hours per week. And I'm billing my time several hundreds per day. So two hours saved = ROI.
Webstorm saves me probably days per year. IMO, buying a good IDE is a no brainer
