Nvidia 2080, Intel i7 9700k, msi mobo Chipset z390 with m2 slot, ram corsair 16 GB DDR4 (will probably expand later on), big ass noctua air cooler, 750W psu and nvme disk from Samsung 500GB. Case from nzxt. I am going to use it for gaming and gamedev (unreal engine). I'm almost done putting everything together!

Why did you choose Intel?

Return the gigabyte card immediately when you still can 🙀

@sunfishcc Along with CPU and motherboard.

@BlueDav000 gigabyte has serious quality control issue with their graphics card. awful coil whine. the RGB software crashes frequently and pops out a window when it crashed.
I see no problem with msi and intel.

@sunfishcc There are serious problems with Intel. I specified "and motherboard" because it has to be changed if he wants to switch to an AMD CPU.

@BlueDav000 even I built amd system at home, I still prefer intel for work. Wouldn’t consider over clocked though

I don't know, to be honest I would only consider AMD if I wanted to buy a threadripper. But since in this case the budget was not a problem I went for what I always worked with without any issue, which is Intel

@scarface78987 If you stick to that logic you will never get the chance to try something which may be infinitely better.

@BlueDav000 That's true, but since in the old days AMD was considered by most the cheap alternative to intel, it's hard to change that thought in my head ^^ Anyways if I run into any issue with this config or with the gigabyte card I'll send you guys an update

@scarface78987 intel is still better for gaming. For work you could have been better off with amd for the same price, depending on the task.

@electrineer yeah I think most games focus on single core performance and that's what Intel does best

@FrodoSwaggins I've watched benchmarks from youtubers. Intel tends to have better fps when it's not limited by the gpu. Whether the difference is noticeable or even measurable depends on the given game and the settings and resolution.

AMD often gives better value. That's why it's considered the cheapo option (inverse Apple effect).
