    Looking at the screens and computers the first question that comes to mind is how old is this photo?
  • 1
    @Commodore Looks like they're using XP.

    Look at middle left and it looks like the nostalgic home screen.

    @Commodore at least 2003

    Some of the cases looks absolutely ridiculous, even at low resolution.
    Top right you have something which could be heads of C-3PO

    I'm not sure you got the full scale of things, so let me expand on that and give you the bigger picture ;)

    This was back in the nineties, people gathering around to create a Geocities site. You can tell this by the under construction signs in the crowd.
    Good old times.

    The real question is, when do invitations for the next one go out?

    @iRant @Flygger This was not in the 90s, it was the Campus Party in Valencia in 2004, with about 4500 gamers/hackers/devs/etc.

    See that girl in the white shirt?

    I was there as well, drove to Spain with a friend, trunk full of computer. Although don't think I'm in the photo. Played a lot of Counter Strike, tried to install Linux on a supermassive Thinkpad laptop.

    No phones. Just people living the moment
  • 2
    @Niss Haha if the moment is modded CS maps, Half life 2 and Doom 3, watching bad quality 420p DvD rips. And Windows XP everywhere, with VLC and winamp, very few people with flat screens, etc. I remember burning a lot of DvDs on Lan parties like these, lots of cracked games and TV series.

    Also I did have a phone there, a Siemens S65 phone, with a camera and some games. I remember because I had an insane bill calling from Spain back home to NL 😁
