I have a mini heart attack every time my corp phone vibrates

I used to have that with my old job. Every time my phone made a noise I was scared to check in case I had to go in to work. Glad I quit 😅

I just have a pager. If that one goes off, I don't even need to think about whether something is wrong or not. When the pager goes off, shit is hitting the fan.

I did 24/7 on call for two years as the sole on call, and still had to work a normal work week. I was so glad when I got to give that puppy up. And yeah, when it went off, it meant prod was down and the company was losing tons of money, so there was no guessing.

@iAmNaN I hope you demanded (and got) a shitton of compensation for this. This is definitely not normal.

@Kimmax yeah, it took them a while to make it up, but they did. I get a really nice paycheck now.
