Every browser can use that much as long as you open enough tabs. And you seem to have 38 open tabs if I'm reading that right, so not very surprising.
What's so bad about programs using available resources? -

mojo20127836yA few days ago my computer got crawling slow. I checked the task manager a d saw that 9GB swap was used.
WTF? I thought. Then I saw that my firefox (about 6 tabs) used 23 GB RAM ...
WTFWTFWTF?? -
@mojo2012 I've never seen Firefox use even remotely that much and I usually have at least 20-30 tabs open all the time.

caap3846yFirefox will cost u much more with 38 open Tabs. Firefox is waaay more hungry than Chrome. But Chrome often needs more CPU - Power. At least in Windows.

Parzi86636y38 processes:
One for GPU rendering
One for addon master thread
One for code watchdog
One for the first tab/window
The rest are addons and other tabs.
I use 8 or 9 processes at most because I like RAM. VERY rare to use 512MB when downloading like 30 files and streaming Youtube at 480p.
That's on you, my dude. -
"ha ha, CHROME RAM! am i right?!"
ok, jokes aside, maybe this serves as a learning experience to close them tabs and disable unused extensions. -

I think that this is the problem: 15 years ago every programmer had to optimize and clean his code because there was very few available resources. Now we can program like monkeys because there are too much available resources. If a customer ask to us more speed we answer to upgrade his hardware, without optimeze our code. -
Kimmax109876y@ilunix pleased to announce I'm chilled as a cucumber and enjoying life to the fullest. Still a shitpost tho 🤷🏻♀️
