@C0D4 Just thought of it, might be an April's fools joke, that Ubuntu, mint, debian ...etc are removing it from out of the box install and only available in repos

Anyways Nano is there also in Ubuntu (at least) I don't think a package of Vim's size would be a problem and needs to be removed
