They announced that plugins with obfuscated code should share the original code for security checks. Otherwise they would be deleted.
For me they deleted all my plugins I had installed on two PCs -
Apparently Mozilla currently has a problem with expired certificates which prevents them from signing their addons, so they temporarily disabled all extensions.

iamrp25166yMy also disabled..
set xpinstall.signatures.required to false...... They will work.
On your risk. -
Oh I thought I was the only one facing this issue, was too lazy to check it out
-
gitlog57646y@Codex404 Indeed these are problems like this which generally degrade userbase highly
I guess if the problem now persists more than a few days, firefox will be used only by those who focus on FOSS and hate acquisition of internet by google majorly. -
@gitlog this is a good step nonetheless, there were so many cases of add-ons logging keystrokes and some being used as miners and spying and whatnot
I'm sure most of the legit add-ons will be back soon -
@justasithlord Signature checking is good, yes, but disabling already installed (and verified by the time of the installation) addons is a bit... bad.
-
@sbiewald if the add-ons were verified by Mozilla already then they haven't disabled those. Like uBlock Origin, it's still active cause it was verified earlier
-
@irene it was showing me as an alternative to use instead of the one I already have
I tried installing, can't install "download failed" even though my net is working just fine -
Take a load of this, even duckduckgo add-on isn't working
I gotta agree with op, this is bullshit
Are they implying not a single add-on is up to their current standards? -
@justasithlord I have noticed that uBlock and a few others remained active, too.
On the other hand, signatures were required since a few versions a few versions and all addons are signed since. -

The sad part is it's not even a real fix. They just messed with internal values to validate stuff longer while they fix the actual issue. I get certificate stuff is messy but my word this is a big mistake that will probably cost them a small hit at least.
