Is it a dev-thing that I always prefer 24H over AM/PM? Or are there any AM/PM lovers here?

Is what my preference on date formatting for personal use. I'm also a metric system hipster in the US who starts calendar weeks on Monday instead of Sunday.

Metric system, why? What could possibly go wrong with doing a precise task in imperial units? Or even a basic shopping. :D

Yup, 24h system over am/pm. Probably because it's linear time system, where as for am/pm you'll have to put an if else to process if morning or evening.

Sure using 24H is easier when coding, but I'm not a computer.

Healthcare programmer. 24 hour format & Julian days.

I live in Germany, nobody here uses am or pm. Always 24 hour.

I prefer 24HR as well. Most friends think I'm weird for using that format but frick, I don't care. I love it! Too bad they can't tell what time it is on my phone right away. Lol

I don't always use the time, but when I do I use UTC.

I prefer Unix timestamps tbh

Am/Pm

@deadpool88 Might sound weird in English but it's completely acceptable in other languages.

You'll probably just say "eleven" anyway though. Who's having a party at 11:00? But other stuff, like when the train arrives, is said "twenty three". Or more specific like "twenty three forty nine". Try saying it. See? It's not hard, and very clear. Easy to type too: "23:49"

I do like am/pm format. I have my wristwatch set to am/pm because, for instance 8.00 seems more friendly. Like time wouldn't pass so fast. But at work, I look at the watch located in tray (24h format). Then time have to pass fast.
