He said to tell him what it would take for me to stay and I'd have a yes or no by days end.

@kwilliams Something similar happened to me. My decision was primarily based on salary and I told them how much the new one was going to be. They were short on matching it by $7000, but it was enough for me to stay.

xroad23808yWhy are you trying to move? I know it can be tough but always watch out for yourself. At my last job it was literally just me and my boss at one point - that was all of the company. When the company grew to about 15 people he just cut me off. I don't completely blame him, he ran out of money and didn't need a developer anymore but Google and Amazon were trying pretty hard to recruit me the previous year. I turned them both down and got fucked in the end.

@xroad just feel that in the time I've worked here, I've learned enough to be worth more to the company than I'm paid.
The new job was a big payrise, but I've already said I'd be happy to take less to stay with my current employer. -
xroad23808y@kwilliams yeah that's tough. The biggest pay difference I had was 2x. The old job severely underpaid me and the new one overpaid

vortex47828yWell that was an interesting rant to follow.. If i knew about where it'd go, i'd make popcorn!
Congrats and good luck!
Just spoke to my boss about the fact I got another job offer.
Possibly the roughest meeting I've ever done.
