wanted to write my own JavaScript base calendar date picker instead of using the jquery one. really hate the idea of requiring jquery in my compiled script just for the calendar.
but the thought of mobile respobsifying the calendar UI kills me.... then there's cross browser support 😫3 -
spotted a huge bug 2 days before launch. My boss was panicking and he asked. "how long more you need?!" I look at him and almost said "Don't rush art" then I swallow my saliva and said "give me 2 hours" he said ok hurry up.
yea 2 hours after i find out what went wrong2 -
Back when I was doing my uni final year project. i was given the choice of either writing codes or writing documentation (graphs, requirement and a whole lot of other madeup bullshit)
I deicide go with coding, sign up with laracast. watch a whole lot of screen cast. and BOOM, coding is easy - I was literally quoting bombastic technical terms like many-to-many relationship to my group mates after 2 videos. (didn't even know what was bootstrap at that time) Thats was when I decide I wanna code for a living. Laravel made me a developer.1 -
best friend works at a gym, and he always remind me to exercise.
him: bro when was the last time you workout?
me: every fucking day.
him: what?
me: I am a programmer bro, everyday is brain day.2 -
Finish a client project, with Laravel 5. Got a hang with the features and for once felt like I am "there" . nothing can beat me. then client request for the network to have no single point of failure.
I am like "whuttttt" how do I even replicate database and have fail over on it.1 -

Me busy coding, trying to hit the dateline.
PM stretches his arm and starts working after getting bored browsing facebook. *Time to get productive
10 mins later. comes to me with a list of changes. To a project I finished last week, saying it's urgent. Have to be done today. He promise the client to fix these Changes by the end of this week. *wow thanks for pilling me with this now
.... one week later. client emailed and question us. On a few of the (PM self initiated ) changes and want us (me) to revert. -.-3 -
When the pm learns how F12 and use Google console to change HTML style, for example the color of the font.
He proclaims produly to everyone, I can code like you guys now.2 -
Finally convince my colleague to try sublime text. His coming from notepad++ and netbeans.
First thing he do, figure out how to change the theme to white background. -.- not so cool anymore.2 -
beginner coder: figures out how to write a feature
average coder: knows a few different ways to write a feature. but not quite sure on which one to use.
master coder: meditates before starting a project. closes his eyes to map out the entire infrastructure of the project.
god coder: gets paid ALOT of money to guide people on the right to do it.2 -
anyone here has experience coding high before? can you even focus. 😂 Just really curious, please share.10

Created a website for a client at a pretty low quotation. Set up 2 email accounts and provided step by step instruction on how to do it. Client now expect me to do it for all 13 of his employee with migration. For free. Told him i will need to charge extra for this, he claims that i didnt mention right at the start. Is this my fault? Should i do it? Please share.7

when u spend 2 hours desperately trying to fix a bug. Give up, off the computer and get ready for bed. the moment you get comfortable and ready to sleep. You solve the problem mentally in ur head. Get back up, on the computer and continue coding.

Here in singapore, we developers are super under-appreciated, pm always get the credit. and our salary are never decent. is this a global thing or just us? please share18

when u feel that u wrote some godlike code. 2 months later client wants to add new features. then u realize ur code needs major refactoring. "what was i thinking, far from godlike"
