Does anyone hear in their company about risk assessment towards American tech companies and their services?

It came to my ear that many European big companies are asking analysis\risk-assessment companies about the reliance on American services and commodities because of how the big American corporations reacted at the Huawei ban.
It's like if America did this to such big Chinese company, they have proven that they cannot be reliable in the long term because of political turmoil.

@norman70688 not at this level, Europe is more reliant on the big American corps more than China in the regard of tech services, it's not in the American enterprises interest to loose the European clients, that's why the war isn't strongly pursued.

At least this is my view

Plus that China wants access to "free market", but they don't stick to the rules. Their currency is undervalued, companies in China must have 51% Chinese majority, and they copy everything. If they don't just construct tax fraud and seize the company. It's high time that someone finally kicks their ass.

@Frederick the most concerning thing is that overnight the contracts between Huawei and American businesses did become trash. Like that...👋

@irene Aww... shucks. That makes me smile. I'm so sick of being thought of a kind, generous and loving. I'm glad somebody sussed me out!

    American here.

With Huawei, a lot of the more drastic reactions were due to a foreign asset control enactment by the... I can't even say this anymore. The a**hole who calls himself the leader of the US. Because of the US foreign asset control laws, that forced corporations to cut ties with Huawei. Yes, there's a lot of fear mongering, but most people are more concerned about our own... ugh. "Leader".

@Techno-Wizard I will say this only once, because it's difficult for others to understand. Viz. the current president... Eisenhower was president when I was born. I remember the assassinations of the 1960s. I learned what "late" meant the morning after Bobby Kennedy died. I asked my mother, "It says the senator was late, what does that mean?" I also remember JFK's final arvo... I've seen some motherfucking bimbos in the White House... Trump does NOT hold a candle to the eejits who've disgraced the office before him.
And what, really, can you do during his tenure? Sweet FA, that's what. If the American left had a shred of sense in their ego jelly mornings, they would've begun planning for 2020 the morning after the election in 2016. Instead, they piss and moan and bitch all day every day. They will never be organized, because they don't know how to unite. I'm done. It's just my opinion...

@bols59 Man, I completely agree. I think what's happening is that 1. everyone here is becoming desensitized to his bs and 2. There *has* been a push for reelection effort on tons of social media but it's burned out because it started day 1. The whole "not my president" line and move towards Bernie for 2020 was definitely a thing. If the elected officials in position to do something about him actually did, then we'd be in a different world where petty complaints wouldn't be necessary.
